This is the first Silver Charm colt I have seen. Bloodlines are fairly decent too!

Thought it was interesting....

He sold for $360K as a yearling in 2002, when some of Silver Charm's sales progeny were selling for exhorbitant prices to his prior owners. The average sales price was only about $25K for his foals that year. There is a lot of class in this pedigree. Too bad this guy ended up with knee problems, won two of five starts and second in another for $68,000 earnings. Three starts at two, one win and one off-the-board at three, then retired. His dam has since foaled progeny by Tiznow and Touch Gold. Second dam only had two foals--I wonder if she died young. The seller is refusing to sell to someone who plans to return him to the track. I wonder why, since knee chips aren't usually that big a deal. Must be more to the story.

Interesting pedigree. Three traces to La Troienne through both male and female progeny. Wonder what his chances are as a stallion prospect with no blacktype? His female family seems to be decent. Nothing terribly spectacular, but has produced a runner or two and seems to still be active.

So many pedigrees...so little time. (C)
I've emailed the owner for more information on Odds On.
Would any of our resident pedigree experts comment on his pedigree and the chances of him becoming a good regional sire? Does his female family seem solid enough? How would he cross on Mr. Prospector line mares (which we seem to have an abundance of in New Mexico.) You can PM or email me if you prefer.
Just doing some speculating at this point.
Much thanks,
Laurie
