My new Stallion - Perfect Circle

Postby Karie » Mon Aug 15, 2005 2:50 pm

Just wanted to let everyone know that a new Stallion joined our little group!
His name is Perfect Circle He is by Unbridled out of G1 SW Missed The Storm, by Storm Cat.
He is a beast- 17.1 at 3 years old!
He is from the family of Chris Evert, Chief's Crown, Winning Colors, Tap Dance City, Sightseek and Tates Creek!
He will be standing in Michigan in 2006. He should be a good fit for Michigan breeding (crossing my fingers!)

Look at this mating and tell me what y'all think.

PERFECT CIRCLE/CAPTIVE PRO by Proper Reality ex Captive Great by Great Above.

What's the state-bred program like in Michigan?

*Me thinks* someone in MIchigan ought to buy CAPTIVE PRO and breed her to this guy. Captive Pro belongs to me, and she is for sale. -:}
She is an outstanding individual with super conformation and character and, judging from the picture of PERFECT CIRCLE he is also a good physically match with Captive. She stands short of 16 hands.

Note: No duplications of Northern Dancer, Mr. Prospector, Raise a Native, etc.

Hi, Karie,

What a lovely horse! Is he like Unbridled in temperment? Any information on the limited number of starts?

[quote="Karie"] [/b] He is by Unbridled out of G1 SW Missed The Storm, by Storm Cat.
He is a beast- 17.1 at 3 years old!
[

And if you wanted to create another, maybe even bigger 'beast' for a jumper program [those people love the big ones], take a look at the mating with my 'trump card mare,' HARRIETTE K. She stands a healthy 16.3, but she is not just a big mare; she is also very stubstantial all around, and she is gorgeous. Chestnut, of coruse being tail mail Secretariat. You get much less linebreeding, but great for sportsorse breeding. Secretariat definitely adds soundness and a good disposition, intelligence, and athletic ability. Duplicating Secretariat can only be a plus. HARRIETTE K has 16 crosses to St. Simon in 9 gens.

You basically get this

SECRETARIAT 5s x 3D (1) (1)
TERLINGUA // HARRY K.*

Harry K was one of Wayne Lukas 2-year olds....

This is an experiment. I have no idea if this will work, but this is the URL of my Shutterfly.com page with pictures of the two mares, Captive Pro and Harirette and their babies. These are not professional pictures but should give an idea of type, et.

Someone please tell me if this page can be viewed with this address?

Thanks, SB

What a handsome conformation shot. I would think sb is right about this guy being appealing to sporthorse breeders.

Mahubah- Joy Gilbert did a great job with getting this shot on a 95 degree Kentucky afternoon (2 weeks ago wednesday) I was very pleased with the result!

He has a issue above his stifle. I think he was tooo big to even attempt racing as a 2yo and am surprised that Pin Oak ran him.
The issue with his right rear is something that no one was able to figure out. Happenned in the stall of course... a freak thing. I plan on having a WONDERFUL equine Chriopractor out to see if he can find something pinched or out of place. Sometimes he just lifts it up and swings it out and then sets it back down. Something is bothering him, but no one could figure out exactly what.

He actually has a great temperment. At first he was pretty nippy, but he has really straightened out. He really is a BIG sweet playful horse.

I am pregnant (until Feburary) and am not taking on any more mares or any riding/retraining of this guy until WAY after I have the baby.
I bet he will appeal to sporthorse/Warmblood and maybe Quarter horse people here also.. Hopefully we will get him a lot of mares.

DOH! :?

Somehow, I never saw this thread... I was going to post how similar Perfect Circle's pedigree is to Eddington's...

... so race record or not for PC, Eddington is proof that the pedigree "works"!
