Hi Rushtawin,
Radio Star died a few years ago with only one crop - 2yos of 2005. To date he has no winners and only about $30,000 in progeny earnings.
I don't know what kind of comments you're looking for. He has no commercial appeal after a dubious start. I'd expect him to end up some winners this coming year.
Regards,
Pete

Thanks for the response! Well, he's the sire of the filly I just adopted. She's out of Tyler's Tops. What had happened with my filly was an ankle injury that took her out of race training, but now she's 100% sound. My farrier, who knew her sire, says she's fast enough to race, but I really only adopted her as an event horse prospect and just because she's exactly what I was looking for in a thoroughbred.
Her registered name is Tyler's Run. Nobody's sat on her back yet, even though last year someone had been bellied up on her. She's unraced due to that injury, and won't be raced because I want her joints to fuse, even though she's sound enough now to. She's exactly halfway between 16hh and 16.1hh at only 2 years and seven months of age. She's dark bay with no markings and the vet and farrier adore her conformation and movement. I was curious how tall her sire and dam were, and just curious to find out her background. Her dam is now in foal again to Wheelaway, both of whom are at McMahon Thoroughbreds in Saratoga.

Actually Pete he managed to squeeze out two crops. The second, yearlings of 2005, was larger than the first. You are correct about the poor race performance thus far. Unfortunately I still have one. If Anybody is interested she is free to someone who will race her.
I suspect they will improve in standing over time as they make their way to the turf, as many appear in both breeding and physicality to be more suited to the green. NY is not a good state for turf goers and that lack of such 2Yo races would hurt any stallion. He will get some winners in 2006, hopefully the one I sold in 2004, who looks more like a sprinter, but he will not be morned like an Old Trieste.

*Bumped* Just because I'm curious what your opinions are on him - moreso, what lines should I be looking to cross my mare with in the future - again, she's Tyler's Run:
Sire: Radio Star (Storm Cat x Andover Way)
Dam: Tyler's Tops (You And I x Sounding Off)
Radio Star is also the sire of Back Door Deal. The barn owner thinks my mare hit 16.2hh and is probably closer or at 16.3hh. So, surprisingly, we got height, but it took her until she turned 4 to get that last inch or two.

Back Door Deal was a nice colt who ran beyers in the 80's and tried stakes company but never got blk typed.
I own his dam, 3YO full sister who we call the Swayback, Bubba, Beauty, anything except her registered name of Dusty Track. She is still a work in progress but seems to have fiqure things out in her last 2 starts, 3rd in MCL and 4th in MSW at the Big A. I am going to give her quite a few tries at the MSW, as long as she continues to pay her way, as her Maiden status may be her best friend.
As far a pure paper matings, I think Oflee Wild matches well, interesting inbreeding. I am not going to breed my Radio Star as "Swayback" is not just a clever name.
My two Radio Star's have been small 15.2-15.3 but very correct, minus the back on the one.
I talked to a groom last year who worked with Radio Star on the track and said he was a nice horse that always was sick or had a problem of some sort. Certainly has not done very well as a sire.
1/2 brother to the above mentioned by Millennium Wind will be in the NY open at Saratoga. Big very correct colt. Sire is just way to cold to make the prefferred. I sure no how to pick a sire.
