Postby Ryeno » Sat Dec 17, 2005 2:03 pm

Hello Members,

I was just looking through our local stallion register and seen that Catrail is now at stud in BC Canada. He seems like a great addition to our local program.Does anyone know anything about him?I did a search in the PQ and couldnt find any info on him.He is standing for Private Treaty.Any info is always appreciated.

I worked with him in Ireland. He has such a horrible temperament and he passes it on to his foals. It was due to this that he was no longer in demand in the UK and shipped to the US. I was supposed to fly over with him, but I'd rather pay my own ticket than spend any length of time with the nutcase. He grabbed one of the stallion men by the shoulder and tried dragging him over the fence into the paddock.

Wafare farm stood him for a couple of seasons and then he disappeared. I had heard he had fertility problems.

I wouldn't breed a $3000 claimer to him, let alone stand him at stud.

Run while you can.

I had him at Arrowfield as a shuttle sire. Horrible horse that left tall narrow unathletic types.

He was in Paris Ky for 2 or 3 years field breeding. I heard he was stoping mares that way.

I didn't see him in the flesh, but my former racing mare had a filly by Catrail and she was sold a couple of years ago at Tattersalls Newmarket. She didn't win, but the man who trained her was there and he said she was a sweet and beautiful individual. Mind you my filly had the most friendly and social character you ever saw, so I think she looked like her dam.

definitely had fertility problems at Wafare. I went to see him and made a decision not to breed to him based upon his fertility problems.
