Not living in Kentucky, How bad were his foals? 88 mares bred in 04 and 24 mares in 05. I know that in other lines on this site people have mentioned concerns about temperment.
We have a Changeintheweather colt out of a Grindstone filly. A little small, but from a maiden and with some initial health problems, however he is growing into a very powerful young colt and looks very much like a young Gone West. We are not dissappointed, however based upon weanling sales and Changeintheweather's move to PA I am sure we will be next year.
What have other people seen?

There are a ton of physical problems associated with his dam's side. He himself was plagued with mysterious health issues when he was 3 and his dam died two years ago. His half sister (selling in Jan I believe) had suspensory problems as foal!
I wouldn't be surprised if his foals are racey looking, but extremely fine boned (and mean.)
I heard back in April that he was going to be sold. There just isn't enough demand for him to stay at Pin Oak.
They need to start looking for another stallion and not have this idealistic view that every stallion they stand from now on is going to be a homebred. Cryptograph is their best colt running, and he is something you definitely don't want to breed to.

All men are equal on the turf - or under it.
