Brisnet stallion directory (which means they probably aren't ALL still standing where and at the prices listed, but it's a start).

You're welcome.

The reason I am posting is that I have the opportunity to bring one to stand in BC. Not as a race sire but to be promoted as a hunter/sport sire. Very nicely built and should do well as Bids are great sport horse types. That is why a few have been imported to German. Spectacular Bid is very well respected as a sport horse sire. I was curious as to how many were still standing. I quite like the pedigree but like most of us here on the board do we really need one more stallion? I always consult the members on the board for advice, keeps me grounded or I would have a zillion stallions. I had the opportunity to bring home a really nice stud a few months ago and thankfully the board members gave me a good shake. He would not have been a good fit out here in BC, Kids of the bid however would fit very nicely in the hunter arena :) We are close enough to California to make a run at it and we have an amazing AI specialist in Langley. I'm very lucky :)

hi StealingKat

You wrote "...Bids are great sport horse types."

For what it's worth...I cannot recall ever seeing a Spectacular Bid daughter that was not an extremely graceful mover.

FOS you are absolutely correct. For the most part they move like cats and are very quick on their feet. Make extremely pretty hunters. I'll go flip a quarter tonight and see which way it lands :)

Interesting observation. Probably why he continues to do well as a broodie sire, even with mares bred from his days as a kentucky outcast in NY.
