Is anyone familiar enough with this chap to give an opinion on what traits he throws....they don't seem to live too long ?

Always considered Warning as one of his best sons, but about the age you are right with this one, he died at just 15 years old. A horse with a lot of speed however. One of his grandsons was Charnwood Forest who has a great pedigree on the damside (Dance of Leaves, Fall Aspen). He also doesn't live anymore.

Well there was Warningford as well... but I think he got retired from stud due to being crazy, and I think Averti & Charnwood died from broken legs, correct me if I am wrong please! :)

Binalong holds the 7f record in Keeneland (or at least he did) and Bold Fact holds the record at York (Eng) over 7f......

Known Fact obviously has had much more recognition in Europe where Warning and some of his sons have done very well. Warning crossed especially well with Sadlers Wells mares producing 7 Group winners. He also had significant success with Lyphard, Nijinsky- just about any Northern Dancer. Sing Sing was also represented, but hard to find any Hyperion in US (Male descended)

Sand Ridge raced through 9, not 6, as was noted in a previous post. He is exceptionally well conformed, is not a monster as far as size. His first foals hit the ground this spring and Key Ranch, Salado TX has done a lot of targeting to certain mare groups. Their anticipation is that he will reproduce the soundness, correct flaws, and most importantly put his speed on the ground and early maturing. I am sending a mare to him this year.

Ooops! Sorry, too many facts in my head. TW, what sort of mare are you sending him? Speed type? Distance? Something in the middle?
