Are there any good value Turf stallions in Ky?

I am looking to breed my turf Mare in KY (she is there already)
And am looking for a turf stallion that is a good value.

Is there such a thing? I am looking for sure $7,500 and lower... Or someone that will give deals or possibly even a foal share.....

Can anyone think of any stallions?

My mare will cross with about any stallion she is from France and is by Doyoun (her name is Ceasefire). So a stallion with a little speed would also be a good thing.

But in reality I understand that I will probably get a long distance turf horse. I am breeding more to race than to sell at this point, but that could change.

She is due around 3/10 to Black Minnaloushe..

Thanks in advance.......

Some Danzig blood might work with your Mill reef blood (Ask the aga khan) saw this fella race a few years ago might be worth a look if the stud are willing to negotiate.

Century City would be first on my list at $7,500.00. Others that you might look at include Castledale (2nd choice), Mr. Light, Morluc and Hap.

at 7,500, stroll would be top of my list and then century city second.
if you're willing to spend a little more, royal academy is a no-brainer... you may be able to get him for maybe 12,500.
for foal share, you should look into johar.

Northern Spur at $3,500 merits a close look as a value stallion. He's by Sadler's Wells and has been a decent stallion thus far.

Also, Military is doing pretty good with only a few crops to race. He's by Danzig. Only problem is they jumped him to $10,000 from $5,000 and that is to much, IMO. If you can get to Military for under $7,500(and I'm guessing you can)he might be worth trying.

Don't know where you are located but Unusual Heat has been knocking the cover off the ball as a turf sire. He's by Nuryev and now stands for $12,500 in California.

Madelyn you sceptic

I remember watching Brahms first race,(pretty sure it was Brahms anyway) He was in the all conquering Magnier colours and trained by Aidan O'Brien, he cost a million $ as a yearling, naturally he went off odds on and was turned over by horse that cost £500......... :D

There is also Perfect Soul - and he certainly had speed on the grass (set ncr at Keeneland going one mile). He stands for $15K - although you could always inquire about a foal share, as it would be a very nice mating. It never hurts to ask!

I haven't looked at potential crosses and don't know what the physical match-up would look like. For $10K and under, I like the following as grass sires in KY: Military, Pleasant Tap, Pine Bluff, Sultry Song (half-brother to Solar Splendor, sire of Singletary), and Horse Chestnut. My guess is that, on a number of these, you could get a deal in the price range for which you're looking. Two other thoughts: (1) Sky Classic, who is a little pricier, but a pretty good "breed to race" sire; and (2) as a flyer on an unproven stallion, take a look at Cactus Ridge. When I saw him at Walmac last fall, he was a neat horse; his weanlings sold rather well last fall considering his modest stud fee; and he has a pedigree suggesting that he might be a "hidden" turf sire.

If you don't mind unproven, Mingun is $7500. His pedigree is certainly intriguing.

Hi Guys,

Karie I would look at Hap. I bred by turf producing mare to him last year and am waiting on a foal now. Also have a season to him through my state TB Association if you are interested.

I thought the northern spur suggestion was a good hypomate.

take a look at Action This Day.

if your interested in him you have an opportunity to possibly get him for less than published airfare.
