Passed on the way most of us would love to go :)

>>>Pensioned Maryland Stallion Horatius Dead
Date Posted: February 5, 2006

Horatius, sire of Eclipse Award winner Safely Kept, died Feb. 3 in his paddock at Thornmar near Chestertown, Md.
"He was lying down napping in the sun and never got up," Thornmar's Charles McGinnes said about the pensioned 31-year-old son of Proudest Roman. "It was a wonderful and dignified way for him to leave us. Horatius made the farm. He was a member of the family occupying the same paddock across from our home for 25 years, and his presence will be sorely missed."<<<<

What a beautiful face he had!

Wow that's absolutely the way they ought to go. Beautiful face, absolutely. Sounds like he was a hardy racer and stallion. We need more like that.

Charlie McGinnes and his wife Cynthia and stallion manager put a lot of love into that grand horse. Everytime I mentioned Horatius, Charlie would have a great grin. Great horseman still. Good friend, I know you miss him. He's up there now looking down at how we conduct ourselves

George :(

I wish my animals would go like that but they never do.

If you want a piece of Horatius here is a nice mare that needs a home on this page (plus many more): http://www.brightfuturesfarm.org/adopti ... Horses.htm
