How is Smoke Glacken doing as far as siring correct, sound individuals? Are his daughters desirable as broodmares?
Much thanks,
Laurie

I really like Smoke Glacken. I'd be delighted to breed to him and I tried to buy a mare in foal to him in January. He himself is pretty correct and has very good bone. He has sired some good racehorses and I would think that the desirability of his fillies as potential broodmares will grow in the future. I seem to remember that Dogwood's Smoke n' Frolic sold for quite a lot at Keeneland as a broodmare prospect.
Plus, his half sister Smokey Glacken (by Forestry) is already again a stakes winner in 2006 and Capote's Crown, his half sister by Capote, was a stakes placed 2YO last year. So he comes from a family that's continuing to develop nicely.

I was very impressed with him as an individual, and his attitude as well. I'm sure he'll be a good broodmare sire also.

I can vouch for his attitude, but not his conformation, since I wasn't paying attention to that in the least. He was a wonderful gentleman when I met him. He came over to say hello and even looked insulted when I walked off without offering to take him with me. I get beat up by so many strange horses that the nice ones really make me sit up and take notice. This guy was one of them.
