DECARCHY? Keith - some advice?

Postby tbrace » Mon Feb 13, 2006 8:53 am

Hello, Keith, and other friends,

You have wriiten about Decarchy some time back. Have you seen any of his foals or yearlings? What is your take on him now. He is clearly one of the best bred stallions in California, and we are wondering how his babies look, or if anyone is breeding to him? Thanks for all of your insights!

Since nobody's posted yet, I'll just throw in two very small, slightly amateurish cents of my own:

His front legs. They scare me. Look at his 2005 Stallion Directory photo. I'm just beginning to learn about conformation and even I can tell that something ain't right there.
Now, this year they got smart. They took his photo in the grass. It hides some of his features! Good job, photographer :|
BTW, here's the 2005 conformation photo:

Of course, maybe his babies look like gods...

Thanks for the insights. The 2005 photo is suspect, alright. We will have to go look at him, I guess. Thanks again.

I have not seen any of his foals or yearlings

I have not seen any of his foals or yearlings. No doubt about it that he is out of a great mare and he was a nice runner himself. One of his weanlings sold for $1500 in 2005 and he has two yearling that have sold for an average of $6900 so conformation on his foals may be suspect because his weanlings and yearlings are not bringing much at the sales.

Decarchy is now at stud in Washington state.....I'd breed to him regionally.

La Troienne,

Are you sure about that? I'm in CA and haven't heard a thing about that. I did hear from the source that Kissin Kris is moving to WA after covering less than five mares this year. I'd be surprised if Decarchy is joining him.

I'm up north and I haven't heard anything, either. The most recent edition of the WTBA magazine does not mention him moving up to WA, nor has their website.

...Though I know a couple people who would be pleased as punch!

Oops. I was wrong about that: I saw his ad on the WTBA site and thought that that meant he'd be moving, when they have all the ads for stallions there because they have their own online national stallion register. Sorry...

Tend to be long in the pastern and not the most correct in the front.

Very similar to his Daddy.

Ironically enough that's about when Delightful Kiss took off.
