In the thread about Medallist there was a comment about his broodmare sire "Bayou Herbert"getting some tough stock as offspring. These other stallions Admiral's Voyage, Cosmic Bomb, Bunty Lawless, Leo Castelli, Silver Saber, Berkley Prince, Buffalo Lark, Al Nasr, Hawaii, Bold Native, On to Glory, Call the Witness, and Magesterial were all cited as examples of stallions who get tough stock as well. Who are your favorite stallions who get "tough stock"?

I don't think these were examples of stallions who got tough stock. These were examples of broodmare sires whom people wouldnt think would be broodmares sires of top stallions.

Who would be your choice as a sire of solid, tough stock on the track?

Don't know if all of his offspring are tough, but there is one gelding named Dive Master, in our country, who is still running, a son of Masterclass. Until now he ran over a hundred races, but this year will be his last, colts and geldings are allowed to run here (Holland) until the age of 12. He is a grand old warrior and I am sure we will miss him awfully when he has ran his last race at the end of this season.

It may not be due to just his sire but that is one tough horse. I hope he finds a good life off the track as I do believe that he has earned it.

If I am not mistaken, he might get a good home and they will try him in endurance ''races''. He will surely get a farewell party.
