Pedigree Query

Has anyone on the board seen any of Menifee's foals? What do you think of him as a commercial stallion? I would like to know about the conformation faults he has a tendency to pass on. Any information that you could share with me about him would be very appreciated.

Here are a list of some of the things I would like to find out about him:
What size foal does he typically reproduce?
I am not a fan of white feet, he has several, does he reproduce this in most of his foals?
Any general conformation strengths and/or weaknesses seen in his ave foal, legs, feet, back end, front end, length of back, shoulder, balance?
Your estimate of his current commercial desireability?
Do you think he will be more desireable or less desireable in the next three years?
What type of mares do you think would nick well with him? Pedigree, size, conformation faults, distance, etc?
What do you think of the farm where he stands?
Anything else you would like to add is greatly appreciated.
I get very good numbers on this guy in my private evaluation system, but I have not seen him nor any of his foals in person. Need to know fairly soon.

One of our stallions, Best to be King, was Menifee's first winner.

He's the only Menifee foal I know "in person" so I can't speak to any others, but we've got photos and videos on our boy on our website:

I'd definately call him more "compact" than tall.
He was a speed demon on the track.
He has very little white.
We love him, so I guess we think his father makes nice foals!

This is heresay so take it for what it's worth, but someone once told me that his best runners have been fillies rather than colts because many of his colts are too big to run.

Menifee does not have very strong commercial appeal, and it's hard to imagine his he would become substantially more commercial in the near future just because he hasn't been getting much bigger books to get some headline runners... with that said, it's not impossible because he is a decent sire
Stone farm is absolutely top notch as a place for raising racehorses. I think the only problem with Menifee is that Stone Farm doesn't do enough to advertise their stallions.
as per the size of his foals, I would suggest you call arthur hancock directly. he's a very good horseman and would probably give you a good idea.
All in all, if you think he would be a good fit for your mare physically and if you're planning on racing the foal, I would recommend him. But if your main goal is to breed for the market, I think there are better choices out there...

The people at Stone Farm are very nice, I'm sure they would be happy to answer any of your questions. I went with Hennessy's half sister, Ruby City, to Stone Farm when she was bred to Menifee. He was absolutely gorgeous.

what qualifies as commercial? I see commercial used on the board so much and just assumed it meant the sires foals sell for a lot of money.

2005 sales figures for menifee aren't bad if I read the stallion register info correctly. early to tell for 06 but numbers are slightly higher with the few that are there. What numbers should he have to be considered commercial?
