best halo sired stallion available today

Postby bcassidy » Tue Mar 21, 2006 6:07 pm

Who are the best sons of Halo standing at stud today? He doesn't have to be in the tail male line he can also be on the broomare sire line of the stallion but preferrably within the the 1st two generations of the pedigree. If there is a stallion inbred to Halo or Hail to Reason/Turn to that would be nice as well. Any body?
best regards Brendan

I'd say Southern Halo. But Halo's Image is doing well.

He's not a son but a grandson, but More Than Ready is a favorite of mine.

I'm biased, but at $2,500 Lord ofthe Thunder is an awfully attractive proposition!

Devil His Due

Postby jagger » Thu Mar 23, 2006 5:07 pm

Devil His Due is a grandson of Halo. Sire of last years Dubai Cup winner, Roses in May who I think is in Japan. Devil His Due is at Margaux Farm and raced some 40+ times, drug free and won >3million. His foals are late bloomers. He is on American Thoroughbred Review best value lists for 15K. Allegedly has a cardiac index of 160 as measured by a cardiac veterinarian. He has had 5 or 6 winners this month - all by older horses. RIM was a 4 or 5 year old when he won the Dubai Cup last year. He has not been a roaring commercial success, probably due to his reputation for his progeny's lack of precocity and probably has not seen the best mares because of this. Definitely a good "breed to race" though. He is very good looking @ about 16h and may be a true black. Looks VERY correct.

Halo x Mr. Prospector has had 39 GSWers and has a VGS of 1.64. Goldmine/VGS

hi guys

Although a young sire, More Than Ready seems to be supplying some nice horses on a pretty regular basis.

Southern Image would be one of the most talented to come from the sire line for some time. 6 from 8 starts with G1 wins from 7f to 10f.

Thanks everyone for your input. I was aware of these and actually a few others not listed but I was hoping there might be some others that I wasn't familiar with. If you find anything else I would very much appreciate hearing about him. Have a great day.
best regards Brendan
