legacy of Seabisuit?

Whatever happened to his progeny? I wanted to see if his sire line bred on but couldnt sift through the whole list in this data base. My friend read the book and says he did not get top mares owing to his locale in the valley of Calif. Avalyn Hunter's book mentioned one of his colts one a minor stakes in Calif, I think. What were his best runners and did any sires carry on this sire line?

There were a couple of sons that went to stud, but I don't think they sired anything that went to stud. The only way to find Seabiscuit now is though any daughters he sired. I'd been working on tracking them all forward last year, but my PC ate the program. I believe I'd only found 5 mares at that time that had decendants born after 1985.

Straight Man claims tail female breeding to Seabiscuit, but I believe he's the only stallion still at stud who is.

That's HIS female line -- which does not mean that a 5j female is a Seabiscuit decendant.
