Stallion Registers

Postby ragsdaj » Tue Apr 04, 2006 11:06 am

I wish there was a stallion register that allowed for detailed advanced searches. All of the sites I look at are limited to just a few options.

It seems with all the information available these sites could come up with something better than stud range and state.

The Blood Horse online SR offers search by location, price, sire, broodmare sire, etc. I WISH it offered more, ie: stallion in a pedigree (anywhere), and for a broader range of stud fees ($5K-$20K, for example). They ARE limited, which is why I am working on my own database.

I find Thoroughbred Times search feature to be the better of the two, but it also is limited.

I use both sites. Bloodhorse allows you to search for broodmare sire and TB Times has a line/inbred search that is useful.

The "anywhere" feature is a necessity and it would be wonderful if you could ask for multiple sires in the pedigree, Storm Cat and Buckpasser as an example (maybe not a good one). By earnings would be a nice search also.

There are other search criteria that would be helpful too. Madelyn, maybe your design will be ready by next season!
