hi sprucie

I've seen a couple of nice Thunderellos...including a powerhouse colt.

It would not surprise me to see Thunderello get his fair share of VERY fast horses, possibly some very early...plus some stakes caliber runners. Why not? Thunderello could fly, and did set the fractions in the BC Sprint (in which he finished an impressive 2nd).

As for Thunderello siring a genuine classics threat...anything's possible, but I wouldn't recommend anyone holding their breath.

That's the thing that has me worried about breeding a mare to him. The mare in question was a 6-7 furlong racer, so I don't want to produce something that can't go past 4 furlongs. She could use a bit more precociousness as she didn't race until she was three, and she's built like a brick you-know-what. That would probably be one large foal.

Hi Sprucie,

It would be a lot easier to give you an answer if you explained your interest. Asking for any thoughts is really too broad. If you have a specific mare in mind, name her and what your intentions are (race, sell). A physical description of her would help too.

Regards,

Pete

hi guys

Thunderello had an EXTREMELY impressive 2-yo MSW winner at Delaware Park on May 28th.

Gonetoground (by Thunderello) won easily by a widening 5 1/4 lengths. He totally outclassed the field and was in front gate-to-wire.

hi sprucie

Apparently the Thunderello colt (named Gonetoground)...blewwwwww them away in the 4 1/2 furlong MSW race, and kept widening his winning margin (winning by 5 1/4) while being ridden out.

This colt (Gonetoground) was about as precocious as you can get...take a look at the chart...he was on the lead gate-to-wire. The chart comment re: the second place colt (who went off the .60 cent favorite) indicated that he "was no match for the winner..."

Again...very impressive. Gonetoground was 3/5 of a second off the track record!!!

Best to you.
