RIP Secret 'n Classy
Both The Blood-Horse and Thoroughbred Times are reporting the loss of Secretariat's son Secret 'n Classy, who stood in the Czech Republic. He was humanely destroyed earlier this spring after breaking a leg.
"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher...You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse." C. S. Lewis

mahubah: I guess many people here don't know me
Right now I have really no time, but it will hopefully change after approximately 20th June, and I'll be happy to help anybody interested in thoroughbreds and racing in Czech Republic. A lot of interesting horses end up here and as I love to know what happened to horses I loved, I'm also willing to help anybody.
And just some notes to Secret'n Classy: he broke his leg in paddock, although to call it paddock... Quite small for TB stallions I'd say, but it doesn't matter. However, nobody understands how he managed to do, as there's no special place or no fence where he could do it! Just another sad accident...
I can only say that we all are very sad, all my friends were either shocked or cried when hearing that bad news. From what I've heard, Mr. Vanda, who owned Secret, was really agonized - my friend told me he loved that horse very much. To be honest, not many people did so, but Secret was great thoroughbred with special personality and I'm pretty sure no-one of our generation will forget this breathtaking animal.
When visiting our racecourse some weeks ago, I made a picture of one of his offsprings, Hannibal Jose. He looks like a copy of Secret and he's a monster horse with monster pedigree, being out of Oaks winning Rainbows For Life daughter. It turned out to be quite good picture, so if anybody wants to see it, just let me know - just a last farewell to his great daddy.
