Victory Gallop???

Postby Derby2004 » Fri May 19, 2006 6:47 pm

Am I in the dark about something on Victory Gallop? His price has dropped to 10k, but he doing great as a sire. He has a 1.77 AEI vs 1.78 CI, his foals are running, he has 12 Sws out of 158 runners, over 62k per runner and over 10mil in earnings. His yearlinga dont sell well but his 2 yos do. Why the drastic price drop?

He's a proven sire without a superstar pedigree ... he's just not sexy. Some negatives you could point to ... he's only had one graded stakes winner (not a "big horse" sire) and he can get some dogs in the sales ring (several sold $5000 or below last year). I think his price right now is about right given what the market covets (which may not be the same as what a rational person covets  ). Nice breed to race horse just like his sire.

Well then I am predicting that unless he gets a big horse in a year or two, he will not be at Winstar. They like their big name horses.

Might be a good time for someone interested in him to put in their name for the JUST IN CASE this guy ever goes up for sale... So many of these stallion deals seem to be made without anyone really knowing the horse was available for sale!
