To add to his impressive resume. Too bad the race was marred by Barbaro's misfortune.

Bernardini victory today will be overshadowed by Barbaro's injury. He will have to go on to win the Belmont in order to get more respect.

The Belmont will have Bob and John along with Point Determined in it.

Also, noticed that Bernardini is from the RAN broodmare sireline. Way to break the "curse": two classic winners so far this year.

Bernardini's getting the respect , just not the attention. It's heartbreaking about Barbaro, but Bernardini would have given him a real tussle - he was fantastic today. The Belmont is perfect for him........

Curse had nothing whatsoever to do with the Preakness. It was Derby only. Point Given was RAN-afflicted and he long since won and I'm sure there are others. I have to go back and look. People start applying the curse hither and yon and it was only applicable in that one instance. I guess now, sadly, you can argue the RAN curse sorta applies to the Triple Crown still. Does make it seem more like a curse than a trend in this case. :(
