There were only a handful of lookers on the grounds today. I thought there'd be more since we're expecting snow tomorrow. But the nice mares were out and being looked at.

We saw four mares with foals already by their sides. Their owners knew when they were due. It really makes me wonder why they didn't sell them in November.

Could you please possibly check out hip #376 Miss Spender for me and tell me if she's got a foal at her side? We used to own her. She's due any day now.

That's funny, I was just told the same thing maybe 10 minutes ago by one of my agents. Its a rather strong catalogue without a lot of people there.

Contrast, I'm not sure if I'll be there tomorrow but I will on Sunday. I'll have a look at her if I can.

Eap, I expect that there will be many more people there tomorrow.

Thanks. I'll definitely be watching the live feed. I'm surprised she's even being sold. It didn't sound like it when I went to visit her in November at Old Frankfort Stud.

Her last cover was on March 14th and it's her first so I expect she's either had it or going to have it very very soon.

Here's your chance to pick up some really nice horses for next to nothing or near upset price. It's a pretty strong book of horses and we are having a snow and ice weekend.

I doubt they'll be giving many good ones away. People seem to find a way to be on hand when something they're interested in is selling, even in bad weather.

I agree. Do like me and send people there to brave the elements on your behalf. Its much more comfortable getting live calls than freezing.

So far the weanling prices aren't too great. They couldn't sell a Sunday Break filly for $1,000.

She's the last to sell today and still holding in that foal.

First three mares had no bids, next one went for 1.7k.

Results ??

Postby jagger » Sun Feb 12, 2006 3:16 pm

In the results column, if it says "not sold" and then beneath it, a figure ($1,000 for instance) is listed - does this mean the top bid was $1,000 or the reserve was $1,000?

It means that was the top bid. Some people are really getting steals.
