I was just told "the money's not here that appeared there was going to be as little as a week ago". Looks like the international instability in the stock market the last few days is playing a part.

And who said it doesnt matter cutting international ties with the world??!!

To follow up, consignors are bailing and private sales are being made. The main buyers are there. I think owners will make a slight profit, but the results wont show that.

Maven, the Fu Peg bought for $235,000 sold for $900,000...not a bad profit.

Well of course some horses are going to sell for a nice price. Its one of the premiere auctions of its type and the buyer is a mainstay in the industry.

Are that many being sold privately? I thought there was a rule that they still had to go through the ring. I thought that's what I read about The Green Monkey having to go through the ring even though he was sold privately.

After a horse RNA's or is made an out on the grounds, they can be sold privately. Happens at every sale. Not unusual at all. What is unusual, is so many horses arent meeting their reserves or are being pulled.

Im not sure there's a "ton" of private sales going on, but I was told they're happening.

hip 107 should be interesting. I remember him as a yearling. He was solid looking but seemed extremely intelligent. Was constantly aware.

Be interesting where some of these horses wind up. I was really only interested to see what happened to one of the early horses and she RNA'ed at what I thought was a fairly reasonable price.

ugly... just ugly.

120 is another Sky Mesa I loved as a yearling... lets see what he goes for. He has good size and bone.

The only one I really liked was a Pulpit filly and she went for about what I thought. Around 800k. She'll be a real nice broodmare.

Thats about right... I lost the feed when hip 120 was up to 675k. Like I said, he was a real nice looking yearling. I was really impressed with the Sky Mesas.
