Book 1 was pretty good to us I think.

My family got no. 58 and no. 160 to round off the filly collection for a long-term racing/breeding operation :-). First time we've ever bought from book 1 and it definitely felt like a buyer's market while we were there. Although, we looked at 126 and liked her a lot...hoped we might get her at 3-400. Then she sells for 1.7 mil. When they like 'em they like 'em, lol.

Congrats... really like the paper on Hip #160 (BIG fan of GC and Daylami)! I assume that you're going to race them - best of luck!

Hip #1231 is a half brother to my filly - he sells on Saturday. Would love it if some would be kind enough to report how he looks, etc. He's a gray colt by Maria's Mon. Thanks in advance.

#1231 is a bay filly by Limehouse, and sells on Thursday. Do you want to try again with the hip #?

Sorry, got the numbers switched - it's Hip #1321!

Has anyone had a chance to see this colt?

Thanks! And yeah, we plan to race them and hopefully feature them among a group of 7 or 8 broodmares we have right now. My dad's been in the business for about 20 years but we haven't had a clear strategy for most of that time, so he's left me pretty much in charge of putting together a group of fillies for both racing and for use afterwards as well. Our success has mostly been on the grass (Blazing Fury, Gritty Sandie, Masseuse, Bold Hawk) and with turf purses increasing and synthetic helping out, I'm hoping that the grassy bottom halves of these pedigrees will help us keep up with the times. We also have JJ Toner training for us who can find the grass with just about any horse you give him, lol.

Oh, and I'll try to post pictures of these two after I visit them in a couple of weeks.

Good luck with her! We bought #390 from the same family, so hopefully they can both do some good.

I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a horse with three legs. I saw at least 3 and a half from my computer vid.

I was at the sale today and will be tomorrow after at farm tour. Seemed okay crowdwise but to me the many many many nice horses went through for much less than I would have thought.

Be back tomorrow if anyone wants a pic I can perhaps snag a few. Anyone else around?
