Anyone just see hip #75 bring over $300K from first crop yearling by $5K NY stallion Hook and Ladder??
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Yes, she was very nice looking, and it's a pretty page that also had some updates.

Hook And Ladder wasn't the chief selling point. :wink:

Nope. Went after Hip 42. Actually, we were poised to pounce, and by the time we had our shot, it scooted way past our maximum. Went to 250k, lovely filly. We got 2 in the hunt tommorrow, maybe same result.

I wouldn't necessarily discount Hook and Ladder as a stallion prospect. He's a good-looking individual and the Lakland people really know how to promote a stallion. (See Freud, Precise End and End Sweep in NY in recent years.)

That being said, I suspect that the high price for this filly is that Zayat bought this filly's 2YO half-sister (by Officer) earlier this year for about $220K and she broke her maiden first time out by about 10 lengths.
