WTBA results anywhere?

Postby tbrace » Tue Sep 05, 2006 9:37 pm

Has anyone seen the WTBA results posted on their site, or anywhere else? How did the sale go? Looked like lots of Ky breds in the catalog. Wonder how Washington breeders and stallion owners feel about that?

The sale has long had KY-bred horses. Northwest Farms always has some interesting horses in their consignment.

Slewdledo and Tribunal both had $40,000+ sellers yesterday. And though that Thunder Gulch was the high seller and a KY-bred, c'mon, out of Ropersandwranglers? That colt's practically an honorary WA-bred.

Full results are now up at washingtonthoroughbred.com

Looks like it was a pretty dismal sale.

It was an odd consignment for a "select" sale.
I personally thought the entries were boring, and
when I walked the sale, I didn't fall in like with anything.

If I may offer an opinion; the big consigners are "resting"
on their "reputation?".....and the smaller folks are not
allowed into the sale due to the awful political climate.
Thus, I think they consumer has spoken.....
I also didn't see well "prepped" yearlings, they were mostly a tall, gangly, euro-exercised product.

Suz,
Why did the Defensive Plays go so cheap. I was going to breed to him this spring but really am having doubts now. I absolutely love him but I can't even raise a colt for 1200.00 to yearling age! I think I saw one go for 3000 but even at that you may as well stand ringside burning your hard earned loot! :)
Always bet on the grey!!

Defensive Play isn't a great fit for this area. His first Washington crop hit the track last year with a loud thud.

Did anyone throw a hissy fit about stall assignments this year? And did they have the track's telephone directory play Over and Over and Over on the loudspeaker again this year? Both are annual events - I'd be almost disappointed if they didn't happen!

It was a "predictable" layout of stall assignments
