Hoosier Park Paddock Sale

The End-of-the-Meet Paddock Sale will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Hoosier Park Racetrack in Anderson, Indiana. The sale will begin at 1:00 PM, and horses will be available for inspection at 8:00 AM the day of the sale.

This has historically been an excellent buyers sale. Some of these are horses that are just a step slow or are getting a little older and coming off of their best form, and would make excellent second career prospects. Sometimes owners/trainers need to lighten the load of horses they will be shipping out at the end of the meet, or horses they will be supporting through the winter months, and they offer some nice horses at this sale.

Typcially some decent broodmare prospects and race prospects or horses just getting started racing can be found at this sale as well as second career horses. This is one of those sales where there are usually several incredible bargains to be found.

There won't be a catalog published for this sale, as most horses are entered right before the sale (typically the consignors wait until as close to the end of the meet as possible to decide which horses they want to sell and which ones they want to keep going with.) There will be a list of horses with race records, etc. available that morning, and plenty of time to walk around, check out the horses, talk to the trainers, etc.

Make a fun day of it... check out the horses in the morning, maybe bid on a few, then stay for an evening of live racing before taking your new purchases home. Hope to see some of you there...
