Anyone going? I will be there and just wondering if anyone had any picks they would like to share? I like old mares so its easy to see what I am looking at.
Won't be there but just had fun glancing at the catalogue....two rather nice mares by Halo, Hip#29 is a nice Waquoit mare who is the dam of Bronze Abe, saw a Relaunch mare, one by Rollicking, a few by Smarten, and one of the Horatius mares was intriguing as well.
Have fun! Hope you find some oldie but still goody!

I have 2 picked out and never bring home the ones I pick before hand but
#137 is a SW who has produced 2 6figure earners and I like her early breeding date to No Armistice who I liked when I saw him last spring. She is relatively young for me being a 1992
and my #1 choice is #257Halo mare infoal to Two Punch and she has produced 2 minor stakes placed horses...perfect since she is a 1987
my last choice is a 1990 daughter of Deputy Minister out of Nasty and Bold--looks like she would be a nice cross with Jelly Roll Romp. but again she is a little on the young side for me.
last year I bought a 1984, and I have many 1980's mares here.---love to give the old gals a good life for whatever time they have left.

The female line on that Halo mare is very intriguing....and a Two Punch foal is never a bad thing. Hope you are able to get her, you'd think by that age she'd have a forever home. (in an ideal world anyhow!). Looks like she crossed nicely with Waquoit too. Or perhaps rather she fit his need for that Halo blood!
#137 is a grand pedigree for an outcross mare. Island Whirl is no slouch. Am I correct in thinking his sireline is an import from Australia?
Forgot that there was an Oh Say mare who caught my eye too. Can you tell that I like some of the old Maryland lines
?
Do you have any new pictures of Jelly Roll Romp up on your website? Last ones I saw were taken in the winter when he arrived and he was quite the looker.

I lived in Maryland from 1983 until the mid-90's and I love the Maryland stallions. My mom owned Full Quiver who was a 3/4 brother to Oh Say and I have a few broodmares by him that are having their first foals next year...
We currently have a couple of Allens Prospect mares here along with a Waquoit and a Two Punch --I would love another Citidancer mare as well.
The Halo mare will probably go out of my price range but wow would love to have her here...hard this time of year, with advertising, sales and of course HAY!
I need to take new pictures of Jelly..he has filled out, put on about 200lbs (at least) and is quite chunky. We bred him to one of the Allens Prospect mares and a Deputy Minister mare of our own so are looking forward to his first crop.
Hip #137 is intriguing, I like the covering stallion and would breed her to Meadaaar this year. I dont know alot about Island Whirl but I am seeing him more and more often.
