Buggerall, I had hoped to make it down for this year's sale, but life got in the way again. Any Aussies here plan on attending opening session today? The catalog looks great, as always. I imagine the full to Miss Finland must be on a lot of short lists.

Has the new Inglis Inward Buyers Scheme made an impact on prices? What about the new Million races?

Through hip 116 the sale looks very strong. Three over a million, buy back rate seems low. But where are Gai and Bart? Not a single purchase yet.

Just got back from the third day. What a sale, some truly outstanding lots, Holy Roman Emperor's 3/4 brother made 3 mil last night. But today was outsatnding with 12 million dollar lots through the ring. The three big sires were Redoutes, Encosta and Elusive Quality

A truly awesome sale.

Why are Flying Spurs so far less popular than the Encostas, etc.? Almost identical breeding, multiple G1 sire, and having a banner year? Physical issues? Or just not the sex appeal of the others?

Ordinary mares, this was the first season that Encosta stood at Coolmore on the increased fee. He really had an outstanding book.

Also Encosta can be bred to danehill mares, ie the twyla lot
