Has anyone noticed the Fasig Tipton sale coming up in Saratoga on October 9th? Its quite an odd sale and I don't know what to make of it. There are some interesting Darley racing culls and some other HORAs too - along with some to be expected NY breeding stock - that part is a bit of a throwback to the old NY Thouroughbred Breeders sales that they used to hold up there.

My question is - do you think they're going to get much of a crowd up there in October for this type of sale?

I know 3 people from Pa. who are making the trip up for that sale. But you're right, it does remind me of those old NY Thoro. Breeders sales.

There is an article in the BH about the sale. It makes sense to try to sell horses that are not competitive in the NY market in NY now, rather than keeping them at the track before sending them south for the winter with the rest of the string and then trying to find buyers for them.
