Stretching Horse
How common is it for horses to stretch? My filly likes to reach down and stretch like a dog if I get a good itch on her back, or she just does it whenever, but Ive noticed that she likes to get a good stretch often, sometimes twice a day. Yesterday morning when the farrier came and put her foot on the hoofjack she liked it so much she descided to full out stretch with her foot up. Anyone else have one that likes to stretch so much? Maybe I could use this to encourage her to bow, it would be easy since its the same only she does it with both legs forward.
lol, mine do horsey yoga too. Downward dog one or two legs at a time, differs depending on mood. I like to see them do the back leg stretches where they extend it all the way out behind them and point their hoof. Almost like they are saying "hey you check out this sexy horse leg!!!" lmao
I think it's great they do that it sure doesn't hurt anything. Especially when they bring the back hoof up to scratch behind the ear, too cool!

I love a horse that stretches! I like to stretch first thing in the morning!

My stallion (this boy's daddy) likes to stretch his back legs out behind him from time to time as mentioned above. He is remarkably flexible!! <lol>

My guy has a long back, and the other day he was trying to get an itch on his hindquarter and his neck wouldn't reach (he was trying to do what your colt was doing in the picture).
Wish I could've helped him, but he hates being touched, so I let him work it out. At first I thought he had a belly ache, which scared me.
I need to get a book on horse stretching or something.
