I never met a horse that liked lemon juice. Soak the bandages in the juice and your horse won't want to go near them.

Hi Zinn,
If all that stuff you used doesn't stop him from pulling his bandages off, the best advice I could give you is a muzzle. Not the full cover race day muzzle that prevents a horse from getting into his tub and hay--but a 1/3 muzzle that fits under the chin and attaches to the halter. Some trainers and horses do just fine leaving bandages off.

If the horse is unhappy with bandages on all night and it doesn't have some physical problem requiring them, why put the horse through the additional frustration?

If it is hot where the horse is, why not give the horse a break?
