My trainer swears by moon signs for the timing of gelding his horses. He rarely ever has problems with healing. He says the info is in the back pages of the Blood Horse magazine--the sign of the feet is the time for gelding.

Many thanks for the reply. He was gelded last week, the swelling has gone and he's really perky.....also he appears to be walking with more freedom.

Just to update:
We are cantering him now and popping him over a few poles so that he uses himself. The rear quarter is starting to muscle up again nicely and it looks like we will have a "complete" horse before the end of the season. I expect we'll get a couple of flat races in and maybe have one race over hurdles...just to see :wink:
