We're trying out a new "ice bandage" its from a company called Equi-N-icE....ive never heard of them before, but from what i can gather they're an English compan...apparantly these bandages are even better than traditional icing methods...for bruises, tendons etc...has anyone used them? know of them? or know anyone who has and what their opinions are of them....I'm not to convinced as to the effectiveness of this product.

I haven't seen it used, but as I understand it, it is a cotton bandaged with probably some alcohol-based solution soaked into it. It draws inflammation out of the leg by heat transfer, which certainly seems like it could work in theory. But I'd be worried that the solution is some kind of a solvent. You could get a positive test if it can seep through the skin. I'd ask about that before use.

I havn't seen the bandages type, but I have seen the mud pack type and I found it very effective. We have a mare who got her leg hung over the strap on the hot walker. Well, her tendon swelled up the size of a balloon. We put that Equi-N-Ice stuff on it and I'd say 90% of the swelling went down.
