Cimeditine

Just read where the use of Cimetidine may have an adverse effect on a future stallions sperm production. It is used widely to suppress ulcers in horses at the racetrack. Anyone have any experience with it.

I believe it is in the same class of drugs as Ranitidine or Zantac. Strike a Balance (dam of Peaks and Valleys and just recently died) was on Cimetidine for her melanomas. I've never heard of it causing fertility problems in horses. One could assume it would have a similary affect on human males if it were the case.

I wouldn't be too worried about it.
