calcification on the fetlock

Postby Rubytuesday » Fri May 04, 2007 7:05 pm

Has anyone had this problem and what will the horse be good for?
Vet took x-rays of the fetlock after a bad wound and he says that there is quite a bit of calcification now in the joint from the wound. Fetlock and pastern are larger then the other one but no lameness issues.

Vet feels that the horse will be able to jump and work, there will not be any pain, but will not have the mobility in the fetlock.

Is there anything else that can be done to take more of the swelling down (cold hosing has been done without much success (small success)

Thanks
