Postby BenB » Sat Jun 21, 2008 1:28 pm

the fittheen of june
After a careless examinination of her rectum by the vet, she was struck by an very severe injury (rapture) that made me to let her put down after 2 weeks of fighting against her coming death.

I hate to hear that Ben, I know what its like to loose one and it hurts. The way I deal with it is by putting out a picture and thanking the Good Lord for making that animal just for me everytime I look at it, and thanking him for all the good times I've shared with my friend.

Seems like this board is experiencing a rash of poor horse health reports. Here's hoping better health is just around the corner.

Ben, sorry to hear about your loss.

Yep Madelyn, the vet caused an tremendeous rapture.

Thanks to very hefty med,s Mellanie did not suffer throughout the progress.

I just missing her watching her every evening she was always gently looking around and beiing great for the kids

Sorry to hear about this. :( i can't believe a vet would do this. Very troubling and heart breaking for you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Mellanie, Ben. I know you had such love and respect for her and so many high hopes. You always had her best interest at heart.

Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, it is never what we would have imagined for them.

Cherish your memories with her and of her. It is often a very tough road for the small owner and breeder. But the small owner often gets to experience the love and connection that the big guys never do. She gave you many gifts. And you were very good to her.

~Be free and in peace Mellanie~

Mares usually get very expensive after a vet tears one. Is the vet going to settle with you? He/she is liable.

Very sorry to hear about your mare. The vet sounds like the same one that killed my mare. They are equally incompetent. Did he move there from the US? I hope he will pay for what he did. The one that killed my mare did not and the vet board did nothing to him. I know someday he will suffer. He also killed other mares besides mine. I met one of the people whose mare was killed by him.
