Probiotics

Postby Mikki79 » Tue Nov 11, 2008 1:51 pm

I'm just trying to find out what probiotic is your favorite and what has worked best for your horses. I'm finally getting the horses to gain weight and I want them to keep it and gain more. I don't want Lineman but i'm tired of the supermodel look. I'm trying to get them all at a happy medium!!!!

Open to advice and suggestions.

I don't think there is any scientific evidence that probiotics deliver any benefit at all. Check The Horse.com site for information.

Go natural if you can.
Probiotics are great things to add to a horses diet. Especially with all the processed foods we feed and chemicals we pump into their bodies.
A freind of mine found a great one called Biotic 8, made by the AlphaOmega company. She loves it, and her horses look AMAZING!

I take them myself and sure notice when I miss them for a day or two. I feed beet pulp to everything in my care. It doesn't have a lot of nutrition, but I've read a few studies that have shown it helps the absorbtion of nutrients, as well as adding roughage, water, and palatability to any feed.
A woman needs 2 animals in her life-the horse of her dreams, and a jackass to pay for it!
