Ft Dodge FluVac Innovator EHV 4 lists:

Flu/E&W/Enceph/Tetanus

Ft Dodge FluVac Innovator 5 lists

Flu/Rhino/E&W/Tetanus

First why is Flu/E&W/Enceph/Tetanus a "4"

&

Flu/Rhino/E&W/Tetanus a "5"

SECOND:

What does the Enceph stand for??

the E & W are both types of encepahlitis...
so your 4-way is: flu, eastern & western encephalitis, and tetanus.
your 5-way is the same thing plus rhino.

Thanks

but what is the "enceph" in the 4 way?/

My track vet use the 4 way on my twon 3 YO geldings that are racing, and while I could certainly caLL him I was wondering if you had any idea why he did not ise the 5 way

"Enceph" should be attached to "E & W," not listed as a separate item. So the 4-way would include:

Eastern Equine Encephalomyelitis (EEE)
Western Equine Encephalomyelitis (WEE)
Equine Influenza (Flu)
Tetanus (Tet)

So usually a combination of those 4 vaccines would be indicated as something like: EWEE/Flu/Tet

Guessing on why the track vet left out the Rhino... I'd say it's likely becuase most tracks require that a horse be given a rhino vaccine immediately prior to arrival at the track. So, if the geldings are at the track, they likely were already current on their rhino vaccines.

Yes it is. I use the 5way on all my guys.

And when I order through Jeffers I usually get several free ball caps. ;)
