a knee chip below the joint in a horse that is slightly back-at the knee.

sorry to bump, but not sure if no one knows/cares, or this got lost in Derby excitement. I have no updates on this horse yet.

got the update: they found chips "in all 4 joints of the knee" (I thought there were 3) and she will be retired.

Thank you. I own a tiny percentage of her through a gift.
The plan is to get her bred this season, and to sell her in foal via Keeneland January sale. They'll pay for the stud fee from the proceeds of the sale. They are not expecting her to fetch much (4 starts, maiden, 18.5K earnings; placed 3 times) but it can help defray the costs to the partners a little.
I don't think she should be bred. But I have no official say. Immediate family too fragile.
