Hauling a pregnant mare
Ive done as much reading as I can on the subject, even found a nice article about it on ctba.com. From what I can tell, I shouldnt be worrying at all about the 1hr 15 min drive from Coalinga to Fresno, CA. However, my current situation is that I can haul my mare home on the 7th, on this day she is scheduled to have one last preg scan, and will probably be tranquilized. Should I take advantage of this and plan to haul her home after she is scanned? Or should I do it on a different day? I thought about this and wanted to present the idea to the manager at the farm, but first want to see if its even a good idea.

I am assumng she is a difficult mare for a vet to need to sedate her for palpation/ ultrasound for a pregnancy check?... If that is the case then I would take advantage of her being sedated and ship her after the check. As "SM" said you could put her on regumate for a few days as a precaution. We breed the majority of our mares in KY and need to ship them 1000kms to get them home

I absolutely have to add this, as this morning I checked in on her again. I can totally tell shes not in season. Its like shes another horse. I'm not getting chewed up, she stands still, shes not trying to untie herself constantly. I just cant believe it, what a miracle! This is a mare that is used to being ridden hard, has not been ridden in 2 months being in a medium sized pen, and shes an angel
Its almost scary...she might be plotting my demise.
