ocd in thoroughbreds

does any one know if there is a particular family of thoroughbreds that are more prone to ocd

my friend got a gray thoroughbred off the track - he is by alphabet soup & now he has ocd in one hock - it is not bad - just enough to make him lame now & then

any one have any info

OCD is thought to have a genetic component to its manifestation but a larger cause is dietary so it may have nothing to do with his pedigree but more how he was fed as a youngster. Its especially prominent with horses who are pointed towards the sales as they are fed huge amounts to make them larger than they would naturally be.
