Horses have stomac ulcers and colon ulcers and while Omeprazole can cure and Fenbendazole [SafeGuard/Panacur] can maintain [in addition to beining a wormer] I don't believe either have any effect on the hindgut or colon ulcers.. Fastrack, SmartDigest Ultra, Kombat Boots and others are a source for brewers yeast which I've read will help or even prevent colon ulcers. Some daily turn-out is also good at preventing and maybe even curing ulcers and that's why I don't keep my horses at the track..

Standing in a stall 23/7 is probably a major contributer to the 90% rate of ulcer infection in race horses.

Shammy Davis' posted paper is one of the few that even talks about ulcers in the colon.. Not much info on treatment of colon ulcers but the paper does advise that while 97% of performance horses have ulcers and 63% of horses have colon ulcers..

Wish there was more info on treating hindend ulcers
