why does a 4 yr old horse have an odd hair coat. It is longer and thicker in some places than others. It was not like that early in the year and seems to have turned that way. Actually makes you think of Cushings.

Also, the horse sweats in 'spots' around his body. He does not always sweat in the same place or in a standard area like other horses. It looks like it is in some areas at different times and not the same all the time.

It is an odd way for a young horse and we are trying to figure out what it is that is causing this.
Nerves?
Feed?
Any ideas?

I can't give you a diagnosis but I can tell you what I would do in this situation. I would deworm with a double dose by weight of equimax and pull a cbc.

The hair thing makes me thing cushings as well.
