I am looking for a guide on which wormers to use for mares, pregnant mares and foals (safety concerns) and how often. I am hoping there is a nice guide out there that I can just print off and use but have not found one. Can anyone help?

Your vet should be able to supply you with this information.

Thanks Shammy,

That is helpful. I will try to combine everything I am finding and put it in one spreadsheet. I am still looking for a more complete chart but that the one you sent helps with the timing.

My vet put mine on a fecal exam and worming based only on the results of the test. Turns out they haven't needed wormed in 2 yrs!

My situation is probably different, but there is zero need to automatically worm in some environments, so I would highly recommend this route. No use dosing these guys with anything they don't need. Condition has been fine.

fecal exams are not very good at find tape worms. They can and do, but they also miss a lot of infestations.

Don't tink they are very good a detecting thread worms either.

Might want to discuss this with your Vet.
