There is a wart creme.. a trainer I know scrapes a couple of them off and adds them back to the feed... usually causes the horse to get antibodies and eventually the warts go away..

Cod liver oil works really well most of the time. (It should be applied to the wart, not fed to the horse.)

1 part sassafras oil and 4 parts olive oil, mix with a thick sugar syrup and apply to the warts.

This remedy has been handed down from the old school of natural healing.

pull a few off. I don't know why it works, but the rest will begin to disapear shortly afterward.

You are going to think I am crazy but go to the pharmacist and order some Salt Peeter which is Postassium Nitrate and put a teaspoon twice a day in about 30 days it will be gone. I did it on 2 filly's last year. I also use the Salt Peeter on Stallions in the barn that holler alot. I don't know what the effect is but a old timer told me about it. His horse had 100 warts and 30 days they were gone.
Another thing is silver Nitrate sticks you can get from your vet are supposed to work.

Hello Onalimb,

Some time ago, I placed a gelding with a trainer, who mistreated him.
Gelding arrived home with nose covered in 'warts' (small white bumps), a lung infection, under weight and very jumpy.

After a few months of TLC 'warts' disappeared on their own.

What state is the horse in question in?
