General Quarters
Talking about having "all hands on deck," GQ has got some real heavy hitters lined up in his pedigree. I don't see anything about this colt I don't like. Besides, he's a "dream" of a story. Brings me to tears thinking about it. Not bad for an old man with $20K and one stall. PULPIT has always amazed me. I bet him in the 97 KD and he left me high and dry. The real Shammy Davis didn't do any better for me at the tot either. Most be something about gray colts. Pulpit has always been a very sturdy stallion though. Nothing shabby about the GQ's tail female either. Tom Amoss on TVG says GQ can make the 12f easy. Louis Finochio would say he is fashion bred. Even if he is fashion bred, I think he is competitive in the KD. Nothing weak about GQ.

Pulpit was as good a horse as one could expect from the female family of Monarchy, Round Table's sister.
People forget that Round Table was from a 'fish and fowl' mating - staying sire with mare from sprinting background. Round Table got the both the speed and stamina, but Monarchy only got the speed. Serious stamina (like Le Fabuleux) is needed from mates for members of this family to be better than milers. And recent generations have tended to produce horses who were best at 2 and early at 3, with later form falling off or reverting to sprinting, if they aren't injured - Robellino, Johannesburg, Tale of the Cat, Minardi, and Pulpit himself. It takes a pretty solid damside for a Pulpit to get a distance of ground (over the miler's 9f).

There is no such thing as too much Teddy.

Pedigree Ann's postscript: Something about you can never have too much Teddy.
Then you'll like Pioneerof the Nile and his tail female at Bless Pat. Not too shabby either. http://www.pedigreequery.com/bless+pat
