Mellanie Surprise is having a yearling half sister, she is having a nick between the two full brothers His Majesty and Graustark within the fourth
generation.
Are there examples somewhere if this works????
I might be interesting in the yearling but she seems a bit on fire.

Thanks a lot

The story is a little bit different, her sire Royal Dragon has already a cross
between the full brothers, and the damline takes another Graustark line in.
So it sets a light on the filly. She has kind of fire in her. Not the easiest one.
Her name is Special Surprise (3), any advice welcome.

Hi,

Goldmine has 19 winners of 40 group races having the His Majesty X Graustark or reverse cross.

With His majesty on the stallion side there have been 3 G1 winners out of 12 group winners of 24 races. With Graustark in the sire line there have been 3 G1 winners out of 7 group winners of 16 group races.

Several have 2 occurences of either His Majesty or Graustark.

Given that Mellanie Surprise has won 3 out of 4 races you would do well in Uk to purchase the half sister for 4 x the advertised stud fee of 5000 euros. Strictly on Pedigree I , for what little it is worth, consider she has a far better pedigree than Mellanie Surprise with Royal Dragon appearing a much more compatible mate for the dam(Sunday Surprise).

Obviously you would have to carefully consider her temperment and assess whether she is hot from temper or nerves. I haven't had much success from the latter whereas the former is curable with the correct handling.

Good luck if you decide to take the plunge and keep us informed.

Mellanie ended up twice fourth in Listeds in Germany (this year), one time unplaced in a listed because of an throat infection.
Showing lots of finishing speed ( a burst from speed) over 8 resp 7 furlongs this year and a sixth in our derby within 4 lenghts from the winner.
Saturday the 12th she will go again in a listed 8,5 furlong what suited her best, as she is a rather slow starter it takes time for her to come in a good stride.
After that race I,ll take the decision to buy her half or not.
The sire from mellanie is having a fruitfull year standing at 2,5 k euro,s he
brought 1 gr1 winner in germany amongst several group placed horses listed winners etc
I used to have a sibbling from a mare by shirley heights and she was stressed for whole her life ( very very sad).
