Need stallions with Mirza. Any help?

Postby pokeyman » Sun Nov 02, 2008 3:49 pm

Are there any other stallions that carry Mirza (x Mumtaz Mahal) besides the descendants of Rahy, Saint Ballado, and Devil's Bag?

I have been racking my brain all day and my head is starting to hurt!!

I am trying to bring in this line......

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Of course, proven stallions with solid sire records preferred..8)

You can sometimes see broodmares, especially in the mid-West and Indiana for some reason out of a few daughters of Iram.

Boyatino is a stallion who stood in Europe. I believe he his dead now but you might be able to google some descendants. He was a handy broodmare sire I believe.

Pik As carried him and was a huge influence as a sport horse sire, especially of jumpers. You might want to research him.

Arromaches hails from a completely different branch of Skylarking. He's in Indiana as well, I believe. There's tons of stallions tail-female to Skylarking. I would go this route.

And if all that wasn't random enough, his well represented in Barbados of all places.

Thanks for your reply!

Interesting that a lot are in the Midwest. That's too far for me as I am looking FL, KY, or North East. However, it's god to know just in case!

Well, Pik As is out as I race but he sure is a fancy sport horse!LOL

I have tried the Skylarking route but that is mostly Devil's Bag, Saint Ballado, and Rahy (and their descendants).

This particular mare is hard to sex balance; loaded with filly factors; and doesn't match up with a lot of stallions. If I can find Mirza than that will even her out a bit as she has Badruddin......

Ah, back to the drawing board! :?

Well, I think he has a lot of up side for a completely unproven stallion. However, his stud fee is too high.

His pedigree is solid (although Storm Cat/Mr. Prospector are a dime a dozen). Ho hum.

His race record is acceptable. His soundness better than most from those lines.

I am just not a fan of that particular cross.

Plus, I never breed to unproven stallions..... Especially, when I can breed to a proven stallion for the same amount (Slew city Slew, Concerto, Devil His Due, Outflanker, Disco Rico,Concordes Tune, etc).

Ah...well, a proven horse was not part of what you said you were looking for, only horses with lines to Mirza other than thru Devils Bag, Saint Ballado, and Rahy.

Pokeyman,

If you are still looking for stallions that descend from Mirza, have you looked at Military?
