I was looking at Hollyhock and there are three areas that I don't have clue about

1. What does the little green* mean after a mare's name
2. When a horse has something like CP by his name does that make him more likely to sire horses that can run from classic distances to forever or what?
3. Hollyhock has in the 3rd and 4th removes mares with little pink dots under their name. What does that mean?

1. The green asterisks mark a Reine-de-Course. :)

2. I'm inclined to say 'yes', but I'd imagine it depends on the total dosage numbers. But since dosage isn't really my bag, I'll defer that one to someone better versed on the subject (anyone?).

3. I'm afraid I don't see what you mean there. Do you see it on any other horses, or just Hollyhock?

The pink dots might be a dotted line indicating an inbreeding or linebreeding.

Dotted line = half sibs (same dam/different sire)
Dashed line = 3/4 sibs (including in some cases offspring of different dams; for example Icecapade & Northern Dancer are effectively 3/4 sibs, even tho' out of different mares, b/c they share a sire and broodmare sire)
Solid line = full sibs

Thanks, you've cleared up a great deal for me. The dots were under half sisters Bridal colors and Blossom Time. Its really great to have folks like you all who will share.
