Efficacy Of Nicks Services

Postby Patuxet » Fri Jun 11, 2010 3:19 pm

Nicks services have been around for a while now. Is there any statistical evidence that with their supposedly wholesale use more superior horses are actually being produced? How much has the percentage of stakes horses increased?

I'm sure this is not exactly what you are looking for, but it might be of interest.

The other thing is that statistically the percentage of stakes horses has to approximate the percentage of stakes races run. Over the breed as a whole nicking services can not have any impact on the percentage of stakes horses. What they can do, the service they are offering, is that their client improves their chances of getting a stakes horse rather than the breeder that is not using their service. They are offering a purported competitive advantage.
